These are so entertaining!
Mine makes me sound like a total hardass, and your sounds a bit like me...though I'm no heartbreaker, lol.

I'm going bike shopping today...just seems like something one should do while on sabbatical. (and dontcha just love the root word there?)

They are entertaining! Mine describes me very well! I have broken a few hearts over the years, however I've had my heart broken as just as many times.

What kind of bike are you shopping for? I'm looking forward for better weather so I can ride mine to work! It's been raining and stormy here lately.

Hope everything is going well on your sabbatical :-)

I'm looking at cruisers in the 600-1100cc range. Honda Shadow Aero is a favorite. The 800 cc Suzuki Boulevard. And there a project Harley Sportster that needs a transmission. I have a friend who's a decent Harley mechanic, so it might be fun to do with him. I've rebuilt a few carbs, but that's the extent of my work on Harleys. I know the Honda would be a lot more comfortable, and my old ass is into comfort!

Hope you have better weather soon!

Have you gotten a chance to look at the pic's of my bike on my profile. It's a Honda Shadow Aero 750cc. I love it... it's just the right size for me! It rides like an old time Harley! Sounds like we have similar taste in bikes! Yeah, as soon as it warms up enough I'll be on her!

Well enjoy looking at bikes!

I did see your bike. And it got me thinking about that size bike as a good place to start looking.

If you don't mind clarifying, what do you mean that it "rides like an old time Harley"? (except that maybe the parts don't vibrate off as much...)

(I think the guy with the Sportster is asking too much, given what's wrong with it, much as I love that Harley sound, lol. But I do like looking. . .

In reference to "Rides like an old time Harley..." Do you recall any pic's of old fashioned Harley's in the war...they had really broad, low handle bars and a big ass tank that had your legs wide apart so when they road their arms where spread low and feet where down and out a little in front...that's what it is like to ride my bike. I just remember seeing them on shows like "MASH" and other pic's of old war time Harley's with the tractor type spring seat that remind me of my bike...I love it! I paid $4600 for my bike though...a far cry from $20,000 for a Harley.

I looked at a 2002 Yamaha 650 V-Star today at the local Harley shop, about $3k. Only reasonably priced thing I've found.
His used Sportsters, both 1200s, started at $6500. With a Sportster, you're paying for the sound, and get the sore a** for free, lol! least you get something for!

i'm an ESTJ....we can still be friends, yes?!?
